Salon Logo Design

Do you like the design of our new website? Opinions please!?
Hi there, as in the title, we have made a new site for our salon, I’ve been busting my balls for weeks, and so I’d just like to get some honest feedback from people…
the url is http://www.marlownailstudio.com
What do you think of the logo?
What about the colour scheme?
Font sizes?
Font styles?
Anything that looks bad?
Any suggestions welcomed big time…and thanks for being honest!! I can’t improve otherwise.
Cheers Guys and Gals

For the first site, Marlowbeauty, I’d suggest maybe increasing the font size of the introductory text, and moving the first advertisement (that links to the studio) down the page a little, or turning it into a banner that spans the width of that frame. I also browsed the store a little. You may want to move the body and gift categories further down until the list until they have more content. Other than that, it’s a very professional-looking site. I wouldn’t have known it’s a small business at all.
For the studio site, the first impressions were that it was a very aesthetically pleasing and professional. A couple of suggestions would be a) Try to find a way to allow the person to follow the links at the top without the whole page reloading. It kinda throws you off when the whole page flashes like that. b) consider reducing the amount of text under some sections (i.e. about us). 3) consider moving the cancellation policy to another section. It seems a little out of place in the introduction to the shop. 4) for the content of ‘about us,’ you may want to focus a bit less on your development as a business, and a bit more on the experience that you bring to the customers. Consumers may not really care about your personal business development…how you’ve taken steps to expand, etc – they care more about what they’re getting for their money.
One last suggestion may be to find a way to bring the body of the pages up higher onto the screen. The first time I navigated the site, I clicked on 2, the page reloaded, and I didn’t notice that the bottom had changed. This may be because I’m viewing the page on a laptop, rather than a desktop with a larger monitor, but many of your clients will also be using laptops when they view the site.
Overall, both sites were well done and definitely reflect well on your business. Good job.
